Spirulina is a blue-green microalgae just half a millimeter long. It is a viable alternative to the artificial dye “bright blue” (E133) because it contains Phycocyanin, a compound of protein and blue pigments that is not found in any other plant and accounts for 14 percent of Spirulina’s dry weight.In addition to its characteristic color, Phycocyanin also has important antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties-just think that it is as much as 40 times more potent than vitamins C and E against peroxide- and oxygen-reactive radicals (as shown in Dr. Romay’s team’s 1998 study.

Ingredients: organic spirulina concentrate, maltodextrin.
